Student Response Required: Business Law Topic

This week's question is the first that we will be exploring using the blog format during class. Each student is expected to write a 4-5 sentence response using the information we talked about during class. Students are expected to submit a blog response by midnight on Sunday, January 24.

The labor strike is in its fifth bitter week. The strikers are tense and angry. The workers who remain on the job are both angry and fearful about the situation. For several days nearly a thousand picketers gather at the company's main gate. They are chanting slogans and jeering those who enter the plant. The crowd begins to to throw rocks at the workers who cross the picket line. Then a company truck is set on fire and destroyed.
What powers do the courts have that would be useful in this situation?

How we'll use this blog . . .

With the start of second semester, we will be using this blog to hand in some of our assignments. I want to take a moment to explain how this is going to work. Since we will be having "advisors" visiting some of our classes, they will use this blog to help us with some of our work. Some days, there will be a question posted via blog and students will all be required to answer it. They will do this be using the Comments section below the entry in the blog. This is new for us and we are trying it this year, so please be patient as we make our start.
On a different note, we have had much success with DonorsChoose.org. As I have said before, DonorsChoose is a website where public school teachers can post a project proposal asking for supplies or enrichment materials for their classes. We have had four projects funded through DonorsChoose: two netbooks, high interest literature books, and two Sony cameras. I am so thankful for the generous nature of those who donate. The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation has supplied half the funding for all of our projects and half of our netbooks were paid for by HP. Right now, I have two projects "live" on DonorsChoose: 12 HP financial calculators and a document camera. If you have a moment, check out either of these projects using the links below.
Check back often; as soon as we are able to meet for all classes, we will begin to add content to our blog.
